You are the parent of identical twins. As they grow up people always want to know how you tell them apart. Most likely there are many ways you tell them apart, some you might not even be able to verbalize, just knowing this twin is this twin and that twin is that twin.
They get older and they learn to speak. Now, they are able to tell people who they are themselves and the question probably still comes, but at least now the twins can identify which twin they are without your help. They are unique individuals who have their own personalities, their own likes and dislikes just in general their own people. This all goes well enough until one day it doesn’t.
One of your twins claims to be a specific twin. Maybe the same twin, maybe the other twin. Maybe you know it’s a lie, maybe you don’t. Every time you talk to one of the twins they claim to be one specific twin, never the other one. Maybe you see them together, maybe you don’t.
This goes on for quite some time. It could be days, weeks, months, even years. How long do you let it go on? What is going on?
